While we are often never seen, we are always there. West Alameda Heights Sanitation Service collects wastewater from your home and transports it to a treatment facility where raw sewage is processed through a very complex and expensive process to turn the water back into clean, drinkable water and released back into the streams and rivers. In recent years, some of this water has even been reclaimed to help with the drought by being used to water city parks.
Without this very important process, all of our rivers and lakes would die and become a very serious public health problem.
